Prices vary between 6-12 cents, depending on your supplier. The more energy you use during the day, the less energy you use from the grid and the higher your return on investment. Our analysis shows that a few lifestyle adjustments can increase your energy consumption during the day, e.g. installing timers to turn appliances on during the day (e.g. dishwasher, washing machine, hot water cylinder). Battery prices have also decreased significantly in recent years, so it's now more affordable to invest in a hybrid system to store excess energy generated. Then you'll no longer have any excess energy to sell back to your supplier!
If you're locked into your current energy supplier and there is a break fee, we will incorporate this into our cost-benefit analysis so you can see the impact of any such fees. If you're looking at a grid-tied or hybrid system, you will still be connected so there shouldn't be any fees, but your daily fixed charge may change. We will incorporate all this into our analysis.
